Clarity and simplicity

Simplicity and clarity
go together like water and Walden Pond (photo at left). In Walden, Henry David Thoreau writes of the pond on whose shore he lived for a year and a half, "It is a clear and deep green well, half a mile long and a mile and three quarters in circumference, and contains about sixty-one and a half acres; a perennial spring in the midst of pine and oak woods, without any visible inlet or outlet except by the clouds and evaporation."

Young Zeck can help you find and say the essential things about your company simply and clearly, whether we're coaching you to say things for yourselves or creating communications for you.

Write according to plan
Simplicity is crucial. At the start of a project, we research and come up with a plan. The research sorts out the relevant from the irrelevant, and helps us focus on a theme. The plan helps organize the  project and makes it much easier to say what needs to be said.

Clarity, too, is crucial, and goes hand in hand with simplicity. If you write according to a simple plan and keep the readers and their needs in mind, you'll communicate effectively.

If you're creating a company brochure, for example, you want to give your readers from the start an idea of what the whole is about. You establish a theme up front — from the front cover and the headline. And then develop the theme throughout the brochure via convincing particulars.

If you're drafting an important letter, you would do well to avoid jargon, which usually indicates that no one is thinking for himself — and that no new ideas are being created.

At Young Zeck, we can show you how to cut to the quick with clear writing and simple, powerful graphics.
