folder & brochure
Since the horse and buggy days, it seems, 3M Company, St.
Paul, had an organization called Technical Forum. The problem, lately, was that few technical people were joining.
With a new budget and resolve,
Technical Forum changed its name to Tech Forum and
modernized its recruitment materials — creating a new visual identity
and new sense of common purpose.
The
agency produced both a holder folder (pictured here) and a brochure. We
created a dynamic and abstract new logo; wrote a clear, powerful argument on the
advantages of being an active member of the 3M technical community; and
solicited a headline and theme — "Innovation through
Interaction" — through a member contest (first prize was a notebook
computer).
We achieved Tech Forum's
goals (recruitment, visibility, economy) by using striking colors and
typography, stock photos, and portraits ... plus testimonials of 3M Tech Forum
members.
The folder held the brochure
(same look but smaller), plus a newsletter, recruitment letter, directory,
and membership form.
